Are you a technically strong accountant looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact?
We're partnering with a growing and ambitious business that is investing heavily in its finance function. As the company continues to expand, they're looking for a commercially minded Accountant to play a pivotal role in supporting the next phase of growth.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll be far more than a traditional accountant. You'll help shape financial reporting, strengthen controls, influence strategic decision-making and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience, gain greater commercial exposure and develop into a more senior finance leadership role over time. There is scope to also assist with the implementation too.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of the month-end and year-end reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, delivering insightful commentary and variance analysis.
- Produce statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and oversee complex balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing meaningful financial insight to support business growth.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with operational teams and senior management to support commercial decision-making.
- Strengthen financial controls and continuously improve finance processes and reporting.
- Support internal and external audits while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Assist with strategic projects, systems improvements and process automation as the finance function continues to evolve.
- Play an active role in driving efficiencies and supporting the wider growth strategy of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
