Finance Manager RTS Infrastructure (Part of Arriva Group) 📍 Holbeck, Leeds 🕒 Full Time | 40 Hours per Week

RTS Infrastructure is a trusted provider of rail infrastructure, construction and depot services across the UK. Based in Leeds, we work with major rail industry clients, delivering projects that keep the UK's rail network moving. Following our recent acquisition by Arriva Group, we're entering an exciting new chapter of growth, investment and opportunity as part of one of Europe's leading passenger transport organisations.

We're now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our leadership team in Holbeck.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, leading people and influencing business performance.

Reporting to the Head of Finance

You'll lead a small finance team whilst taking ownership of project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial business partnering across our construction and infrastructure operations.

The Role

This is a varied and high-impact role, balancing financial leadership with hands-on project accounting responsibilities. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the month-end and period-end reporting process
  • Producing management accounts, KPI reporting and business performance insights
  • Maintaining the integrity of balance sheet and profit and loss reporting
  • Developing meaningful reporting that enables informed decision-making across the business
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and business planning cycle
  • Partnering with operational leaders and budget holders to improve commercial performance
  • Managing the financial performance of construction and infrastructure projects
  • Monitoring project costs, revenues, margins, accruals and work-in-progress (WIP)
  • Reviewing and validating project forecasts, budgets and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities across project portfolios
  • Producing detailed project performance analysis and recommendations
  • Managing cashflow forecasting and working capital performance
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of finance professionals
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial processes, systems and controls
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies

About You

You'll be a qualified finance professional with strong project accounting experience and the ability to build credibility across both finance and operational teams. We're looking for:

  • ACCA or CIMA qualification (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience within construction, infrastructure or engineering environments
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience supporting project-based businesses
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
  • Experience reviewing project budgets, forecasts and profitability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
  • Sage 50 experience would be advantageous
