Job Details

  • Title: Finance Manager
  • Location: Hybrid – TLG’s National Support Centre, West Yorkshire (minimum 40% office-based, including Tuesdays)
  • Salary: £37,066 – £40,090 (Full-Time Equivalent / FTE)
  • Hours: Flexible (30–37.5 hours/week, 0.8–1.0 FTE)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Reports to: Director of Finance

About TLG

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) is a Christian children’s wellbeing charity dedicated to the belief that local churches are central to God’s mission of restoration and hope for children and families.

Through our existing programmes—Early Intervention and Make Lunch—we partner with over 220 churches, supporting 4,699 children annually. Over 1,059 children and families are connected to the broader support network, experiencing belonging, care, and hope within the church community.

About the Role

TLG is seeking a passionate, mission-driven, and strategic Finance Manager to play a central role in shaping our financial resilience and future growth.

As the operational lead for day-to-day finance, you will:

  • Ensure robust financial controls and compliance.
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting with clear strategic insight.
  • Empower leaders with financial guidance and growth-oriented decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

With your nearly completed or qualified accountancy background, this role offers an impactful environment for career growth:

  • Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
    • Provide insightful analysis supporting organisational decision-making.
  • Systems & Processes:

    • Oversee and optimise financial systems and processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Financial Leadership:

    • Work closely with the Director of Finance, shaping the future trajectory of TLG.
    • Lead a high-performing finance function with ongoing professional development opportunities.

We seek a qualified or near-qualified Accountant who is driven, collaborative, and eager to grow within TLG’s finance team.

    • Strong background in charity finance with proven technical skills.
    • Experience in budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial oversight.
  • Leadership & Teamwork:

    • Thrives in a high-performing finance function where balancing strategy and execution is essential.
    • Communicates effectively with department heads and stakeholders.
  • Christian Faith & Values:

    • An active practice of faith, willing to engage in TLG’s spiritual life.
    • Committed to working sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
