Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

Hybrid Working - 4 days office / 1 day remote

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing business and lead the day-to-day operations of our finance function.

Managing a team of 8 across Management Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, driving continuous improvement and ensuring robust financial controls across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Delivering financial analysis and reporting to support business performance and strategic decision-making
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of 8 finance professionals
  • Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital performance
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT, Intrastat and statutory reporting requirements
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activities
  • Leading the annual audit process and supporting statutory accounts preparation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and providing meaningful financial insight and support

Essential Experience

What we’re looking for:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant role
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting background
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Experience managing audits and statutory reporting requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a multi-site business environment
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial services or distribution sectors
  • Experience with ERP systems and finance process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of Intact IQ or similar finance systems
  • Strong understanding of working capital management and cash flow forecasting
