Finance Manager

About Us

3173 is a privately owned UK firm of pensions experts, servicing clients across the country from offices in London, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and Leeds.

The 3173 Group of companies includes:

  • Dalriada Trustees Limited (Dalriada) – One of the UK’s largest professional pension scheme trustee companies.
  • Spence & Partners – Provides pension actuarial, consulting, investment consulting, and administration services for trustees, employers, and members.
  • Mantle® – Reimagines traditional defined benefit pensions administration and actuarial valuation software.

Background to the Role

The 3173 Group is an ambitious, fast-growing software and professional services business specialising in defined benefit pensions. With nearly 20 years of operational experience, it is now one of the leading providers of Trustee, Administration, Actuarial, Investment, and technology services in its markets.

Using its unique proprietary technology platform (Mantle®), 3173 maintains a significant competitive advantage. While the company operates offices across the UK, its headquarters are in Belfast.

A major investment from Synova in September 2022 has positioned the business to consolidate its market leadership and scale further in pensions and technology sectors.

With continuous growth, 3173 is seeking a Finance Manager to take full ownership of financial operations for Dalriada Trustees, including P&L oversight, balance sheet responsibility, and complex client billing.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will:

  • Drive financial performance and decision-making support.
  • Streamline financial processes and insights.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team.

About You

We are looking for a qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in a busy commercial finance environment. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Finance Manager or equivalent leadership-level experience in a fast-paced, commercial setting.
  • A desire to advance their career in a high-growth financial services consultancy specialising in pensions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to engage with senior leadership.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based culture, contributing to Wider Finance Team development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
