Finance Manager

Basingstoke | Full-Time | Part-Time will be considered for the right candidate
Circa £50K Salary + Benefits

Are you a hands-on Finance Manager who enjoys taking ownership and making a real impact? We're looking for an experienced finance professional to lead the finance function within a successful and growing business based in Basingstoke.

This is a great role where you'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations while acting as a trusted business partner to the leadership team. If you're someone who thrives in an autonomous environment, enjoys improving processes, and wants to play a key role in business decision-making, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for the complete finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and insightful commercial support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts and board reports
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
  • Preparing statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors and accountants
  • Overseeing payroll, VAT returns, and tax compliance
  • Managing sales and purchase ledgers where required
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close
  • Developing KPIs and providing commercial analysis to support business decisions
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and financial controls
  • Supporting strategic planning and business growth initiatives

About You

You'll be an experienced Finance Manager or Company Accountant who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of the finance function.

You'll ideally have:

  • Qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or be qualified by experience)
  • Previous experience in a standalone or SME finance environment
  • Good knowledge of accounting systems (Xero, Sage is an advantage)
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong Excel and finance systems experience
