About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance & People Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance operations while supporting HR, compliance, and general business operations.

This is a hands-on management role responsible for leading finance processes, supporting employee matters, assisting with governance and compliance activities, and managing a small finance and administration team. Working closely with senior leadership and external professional advisers, you will help ensure the business operates efficiently, compliantly, and is well positioned for future growth.

This role offers the opportunity to influence business processes, improve financial controls, and contribute to the ongoing development of a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Manage the end-to-end invoicing and accounts receivable function.
  • Oversee payroll processes and liaise with external payroll providers.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintain relationships with external accountants and financial partners.
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate financial records and robust financial controls.
  • Support senior management with financial analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with year-end accounting processes and statutory reporting requirements.

People & HR

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain HR records and personnel documentation.
  • Assist with absence, holiday, and general HR administration.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
  • Help maintain company policies and procedures.

Compliance & Governance

  • Support the business in maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
  • Assist with audits and accreditation activities.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and records.
  • Support GDPR, right-to-work, and other employment-related compliance requirements.
  • Promote best practice across finance and operational processes.

About You

You are a commercially aware, organized, and proactive finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and making a positive impact within a growing business. You are comfortable balancing multiple priorities, leading a small team, and working collaboratively across different areas of the organization.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar senior finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Payroll experience.
  • Experience managing invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
  • Previous team management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or working towards ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
  • Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Exposure to HR or people management responsibilities.
  • Experience implementing financial controls and improving business processes.
  • Experience working across multiple business entities would be advantageous.
