Head of Finance (Part-Time) – Charity Sector
Tailored Search are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Midlands-based charity and social enterprise.
📍 Hybrid Working | Birmingham / Remote
⏰ 30 hours per week (flexible working)
💷 £55,000–£60,000 FTE (£44,000–£48,000 actual salary)
We are seeking a qualified and commercially minded Head of Finance to join a growing charity organisation delivering vital health and wellbeing services across local communities. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for leading the finance function, supporting organisational growth, and providing financial insight to the Executive Team and Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, planning and forecasting
- Produce management accounts, budgets and financial reporting
- Partner with senior stakeholders on business planning and growth opportunities
- Oversee audits, compliance, governance and risk management
- Manage and develop a small finance team
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems and processes

About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills
- Experience presenting financial information to Boards, Trustees or Senior Leadership Teams
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Charity Sector Experience Essential
We are particularly keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Previous experience within the charity, not-for-profit, social enterprise or healthcare sectors
- Knowledge of Charity SORP and charity accounting requirements
- Experience working with Trustees and charity governance frameworks
- Understanding of grant funding, commissioned services or contract-based income streams
