Role Overview
As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the senior finance team by:
Key Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of core finance operations
- Delivering timely, accurate financial reporting
- Driving improved financial performance across the business
Daily Tasks & Focus Areas:
- Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and outputs are reliable and insightful
- Lead preparation of management accounts
- Contribute to group reporting
- Provide meaningful financial analysis, explaining performance and key variances
- Strengthen financial controls, improve processes, and identify efficiency and cost-reduction opportunities
- Work closely with operational teams, offering financial guidance and supporting commercial decision-making
- Act as the key point of contact for external auditors during the year-end process
- Support system developments
- Ensure compliance with financial standards and internal policies

- Lead and develop a small finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and support for high performance and continuous development
Requirements
You’ll need to succeed in this role if you have:
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully-qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment
- Strong background in:
- Financial reporting
- Management accounts preparation
- Audit processes
Key Skills
- Experience improving financial controls, systems, and processes
- Confidence in analysing financial data and explaining insights to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills, including managing or mentoring teams
- Experience in systems development
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
