Finance Manager

Finance Manager – Permanent Role

Eden Scott are delighted to represent a leading social housing organisation in Glasgow seeking to appoint a permanent Finance Manager.

Based in Glasgow with a hybrid working pattern, this role sits at the heart of the organisation and is instrumental to its continued success.

The Role

A senior leadership opportunity for a qualified accountant to:

  • Lead an established finance function
  • Play a key role in shaping the organisation’s future

Reporting to the Director of Finance, ICT & Resources, the role includes team management (5 staff) and critical responsibilities, including:

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial planning and budgeting
  • Prepare management accounts and reporting
  • Manage cash flow and treasury operations
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and compliance
  • Support strategic decision-making with financial insights
  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Oversee the organisation’s factoring service

The Ideal Candidate

A qualified accountant with proven leadership skills, seeking to:

Essential Requirements

  • Professional accountancy qualification (ICAS, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in:
    • Financial planning
    • Control & risk management
    • Leading finance teams
  • Strong financial accounting skills, including statutory reporting
  • Excellent communication (able to explain financial data to non-finance stakeholders)
  • Advanced Excel proficiency + experience with finance systems
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Alignment with organisation’s values and commitment to continuous improvement

Desirable Skills & Experience (Bonus!)

  • Senior finance leadership experience
  • Background in social housing, charity or voluntary sector
  • Treasury management expertise
  • Experience preparing board-level reports
  • Knowledge of pensions, loan portfolios and covenant compliance
  • Experience delivering efficiency improvements and value-for-money projects
