Job Role:

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a broader role where you can influence decision-making, develop a team and play a key part in a manufacturing business?

We're working with a well-established Leeds-based manufacturer to recruit a Finance Manager into an experienced finance team. You'll take ownership of financial reporting, support commercial decisions and help drive improvements across the wider finance function.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical accounting, business partnering and people management. You'll lead month-end, oversee cashflow and working capital, support budgeting and forecasting, and work closely with operational stakeholders to improve performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate management accounts and KPI reporting.
  • Produce board reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with operational teams to monitor costs, challenge spend and improve profitability.
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and cashflow planning.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team of two.
  • Own the annual audit process, VAT reporting and statutory compliance.
  • Oversee stock accounting, fixed assets and performance analysis within the manufacturing operation.

About You:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant looking to step up.
  • Manufacturing experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience managing, mentoring or developing junior team members.
  • Strong Excel skills, with ERP or systems implementation experience advantageous.
  • Commercially minded, organised and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders.
