Finance Manager
Finance Manager – UK-Based (Remote or Hybrid)
Our partner is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations in a scaling international organisation, focused on strengthening accounting processes, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
This role sits at the intersection of hands-on financial expertise and process transformation, with responsibilities spanning multientity accounting, consolidation, and insourcing initiatives. You’ll drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in financial workflows while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build a best-in-class finance function.
About the Role
The Finance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance (per HGB standards), and operational excellence across multiple entities. The position blends accounting leadership with strategic process improvement, particularly in insourcing accounting operations and enhancing reporting quality.
You’ll work closely with leadership, tax advisors, and international teams to:
- Improve financial workflows and decision-making through reliable data
- Bridge the gap between detailed financial control and scalable growth initiatives
- Transition key accounting processes in-house for long-term efficiency
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented yet strategy-driven, comfortable in fast-evolving environments, and passionate about building structured processes from the ground up.
Accountabilities
Core Financial Management
- Manage payment processes with uncompromising accuracy, timeliness, and financial control.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with HGB standards, ensuring high-quality reporting.
- Oversee multi-entity accounting and consolidation across three legal entities.
- Maintain strict bookkeeping standards and financial data integrity company-wide.

Process Improvement & Insourcing
- Take full ownership of accounting operations, leading the in-house transition and restructuring of financial processes.
- Assess current accounting structures and implement scalable, efficient solutions to enhance accuracy and compliance.
- Lead the insourcing roadmap for the German entity, including defining activities, establishing processes, and ensuring seamless transition.
- Drive continuous improvement, focusing on reduction of external dependencies and increased internal capability.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with external tax advisors on VAT, compliance, and broader tax-related matters.
- Collaborate with internal teams (department heads, management) to align financial strategy with business goals.
- Foster relationships across German and international contexts, balancing local requirements with global standards.
Requirements
Experience & Expertise
Minimum 8+ years in accounting, financial accounting, or a related finance role, with proven experience in:
- HGB accounting standards and German tax regulations (critical).
- Multi-entity financial consolidation.
- High-stakes environments where accuracy, compliance, and process improvement are paramount.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or accounting systems such as:
- DATEV
- NetSuite
- SAP
- Microsoft Dynamics (advantageous).
- Experience with accounting reform and transition (e.g., from outsourcing/offshoring to insourcing).
- Familiarity with startup/scaleup contexts, digital-first operations, or fast-growing international organisations.
