Finance Manager - Slough (Hybrid) - Up to £65,000 - Permanent

The Role

An established business in Slough is looking for a Finance Manager to take day-to-day ownership of the finance function, reporting into the Financial Controller. This is a broad, hands-on role covering management accounts, team supervision, and process improvement, suited to a qualified accountant looking to step into a role with real ownership and progression potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Supervise and support the Management Accounting team
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Support VAT returns and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed
  • Identify and implement process and systems improvements
  • Provide financial analysis and insight to support business decisions

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist actively studying)
  • Solid experience in a management accounts or finance management role
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff
  • Good working knowledge of UK VAT and statutory compliance

Desirable

  • Experience in an SME or owner-managed business environment
  • Systems/ERP experience (e.g. Sage, Xero, NetSuite)
  • Experience with multi-entity or group reporting
  • Sector-specific experience relevant to the client
