Salary: £60,000-£65,000
Reports to: Finance Director
Sowena Group is proud to be exclusively partnered with a fast-growing, PE backed business to appoint a technically strong Finance Manager. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact, development-focused role at the centre of a scaling finance function.
About the Role
This is not a traditional Finance Manager position. It's a hands-on, build-and-improve role designed for a high-potential finance professional ready to take ownership of core financial operations while helping shape a modern, scalable finance function.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a critical role in strengthening financial control, improving reporting quality and enhancing processes and systems across the business. The finance function sits at the heart of Business Operations, working closely with Data, Systems and Commercial teams to drive visibility and performance. Over time, this role will develop into a highly autonomous leadership position and a key support to the Finance Director.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
