Finance Manager - ACA ACCA Qualified
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 Location: Head Office (Full-Time, Monday – Friday) Reports to: Finance Director
About the Role
We are a centralized head office managing the accounting and commercial operations for a diverse portfolio of private companies across the Logistics, Chemical Manufacturing, and Dental sectors.
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee 10 distinct company accounts. These entities range from small, low-transaction companies up to our largest Dutch business, which turns over €40m.
This is a stable position for someone looking to make a long-term commitment (5+ years) and grow with the business. The role would suit an experienced manager or a newly qualified ACA looking for a commercial move into industry.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts, Budgets & Forecasts
- Take full ownership of the monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting cycles across all 10 entities.
Commercial & Cash Flow Management
- Manage day-to-day cash flow, oversee billing, and maintain control over payment processes to ensure suppliers are paid within credit terms.
Audit & Compliance
- Deal directly with external auditors and manage the year-end process.
- Ensure compliance across the portfolio, utilizing a strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, alongside managing multi-company VAT returns.
Team Management
- Directly manage and mentor a finance team of 5 to 8 people, ranging from seniors to trainee apprentices.
Operational Support
- Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day queries.
- This includes checking product sales prices, tracking stock locations, joining customer calls, and managing credit checks and credit insurance.
System Processes
- We are currently switching our systems over to Sage 200. You will have the opportunity to help shape and establish the financial processes within the new system.
Executive Exposure
- Work closely with the Finance Director and the Managing Director, which will include projects outside the norm such as funding applications.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
