Finance Manager

Location: South Devon Salary: £55,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a respected and established coastal business, renowned for delivering a high-quality experience to its customers while combining traditional values with a forward-thinking approach. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to become a key part of a successful and growing organisation.

This Finance Manager role is ideal for a driven finance professional looking to take ownership of a varied and hands-on position within a unique coastal environment. You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team where you can make a genuine impact, contribute to business success, and play a key role in shaping the future of the finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth running of the finance function and support the wider administration team
  • Manage accurate financial records, reporting processes, and accounting systems
  • Lead and develop a finance team, providing guidance, support, and mentoring
  • Take ownership of:
    • Accounts payable
    • Accounts receivable
    • Credit control activities
  • Produce key management information and monitor financial performance indicators
  • Support:
    • Budgeting
    • Forecasting
    • Audits
    • Regulatory compliance requirements
  • Maintain effective financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Manage:
    • Payroll
    • Banking processes
    • Supplier relationships
  • Support senior leadership with:
    • Commercial insight
    • Operational decision-making

Requirements

  • Experience as a finance professional in practice or early-stage industry
  • Qualifications:
    • Qualified Accountant
    • Part-qualified
    • Or qualified by experience (QBE)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Accounting processes
    • Financial controls
    • Financial reporting
  • Ability to:
    • Communicate confidently
    • Build relationships across the business
  • Personality traits:
    • Proactive
    • Organised
    • Commercially minded, with a hands-on approach
