Finance Manager

Role Summary
We’re now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our Senior Management Team (SMT). You’ll lead the day-to-day financial accounting function, working alongside an Accounts Assistant and partnering closely with managers across the business, including the Travel Finance Manager.
This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence business performance through accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and insightful management information. You’ll regularly present monthly financial results to the Board and play an integral part in supporting the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss reporting, variance analysis and commentary.
- Consolidate financial results across multiple entities.
- Prepare monthly accounts for the German company.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Liaise with key stakeholders across the business.
- Develop, implement and maintain robust finance policies and procedures.
- Day to day management of the Accounts Assistant.
- Management of day to day running of nominal, sales and purchase ledgers – this involves ledgers held on Sage and it will be useful to gain a working knowledge of our travel bookings system.
- Work across Sage accounting software and develop knowledge of the Dolphin travel bookings system.
- Manage foreign currency transactions.
- Prepare, review and submit VAT returns.
- Support budget and forecast preparation alongside the Finance Director.
- Prepare payroll information for the external payroll provider.
- Work with analysts to improve Management Information (MI) reporting.
- Manage the Gift Trust and produce all associated management information.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors when required.

What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a confident, proactive and commercially minded Finance Manager who enjoys taking ownership and working collaboratively across the business.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience producing management accounts from start to finish.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a team.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent numerical and technical accounting ability.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
- An accountancy qualification is essential.
- Previous experience using Sage accounting software is preferred.
