What you'll be doing

Reporting into the Head of Finance – Tower Lead RtR, this role is a key player in the overall Boots and No7 Beauty Company month-end close. You’ll have a team of offshore resources working across Central Balance Sheet and Payroll, as well as working closely with onshore teams to manage the overall month-end close cycle, with an eye on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage overall month-end close timeline and progress across Boots entities
  • Coordinate the Balance Sheet reconciliation process across Boots & No7
  • Responsible for review of Balance sheet reconciliation of central GL accounts and Payroll
  • Provide key stakeholders with visibility of RTR service delivery performance, financial close health KPIs, and post Balance Sheet reconciliation insights
  • Lead continuous improvement of quality and process with a view to automating within SAP, Blackline or other tools, working towards accelerated/continuous close
  • Ensure controls compliance associated with Journal and Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Key partner liaising with HR/Payroll on all payroll-related items
  • Manage offshore service provider through timely feedback and continuous improvement targets
  • Support intercompany close, ensuring your tasks are trained across to the Intercompany lead so there is cover in the team across key month-end close activities

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

  • Experience of preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and an accounting qualification
  • Pro-active problem-solving and can-do attitude with a drive to find efficiencies and improve processes
  • A drive to develop yourself and others to learn new skills and add value to your role and across the wider team

It would be great if you also have

  • Previous usage of SAP/S4, Cognos and Blackline is an advantage
  • Yellow belt Lean Six Sigma (training can be provided if not already obtained this certificate)
  • Team management either on or offshore
