Finance Manager - Claims & Reinsurance
Finance Manager – Claims & Reinsurance (6-Month FTC)
We’re hiring a Finance Manager to step into a key role supporting our UK claims and reinsurance activity on a 6-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on position where you’ll take ownership of core financial processes, bring clarity to complex areas, and partner closely with teams across finance, actuarial and operations.
You’ll be central to ensuring the integrity of claims-related financials while also identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process for the claims function and ensure accuracy of reported numbers
- Prepare and review UK statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage audits through to completion
- Oversee reinsurance accounting, including premiums, recoveries, commissions and balances
- Reconcile claims recoverables and resolve discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with actuarial and operational teams to ensure alignment across financial and business data
- Support regulatory reporting requirements, including FCA-related submissions
- Oversee the claims payment process, ensuring strong controls and timely payments
- Identify and implement improvements across finance processes, controls and systems
- Work with data teams to enhance reporting, insight and financial transparency

Requirements

- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience within the insurance sector, ideally in claims or financial control
- Solid understanding of statutory reporting, audit processes and regulated environments
- Experience with reinsurance accounting and related financial processes
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders across multiple functions
