Working Pattern: 36 hours per week

Following the merger of The Wrekin Housing Group and Housing Plus Group, the organisation has created a broader, strengthened group structure and is continuing to develop a modern, customer-focused and resilient Finance function.
Housing Plus Group is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager – Customer Experience & Assets as part of a wider campaign to recruit six key roles into its Finance function.
This role is one of two Finance Manager appointments being recruited in phase one of the campaign and will play a critical role in strengthening leadership capacity, improving financial insight and ensuring the organisation has the expertise required to support customers, colleagues and communities.
The successful candidate will provide financial leadership across customer experience, regional services, routine repairs and housing management functions. The role combines strategic business partnering, operational financial management, team leadership and financial control within some of the organisation’s most visible and customer-focused services.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, influencing decision-making and helping organisations improve performance through strong financial management and insight.
About Housing Plus Group
Housing Plus Group is a major housing provider operating across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Following the merger of The Wrekin Housing Group and Housing Plus Group in January 2025, the new group became one of the largest social housing providers in the West Midlands, managing approximately 33,000 homes and maintaining a significant regional presence.
The organisation provides affordable homes, repairs, maintenance, planned improvement programmes, care and support services and community investment initiatives, while also building new homes across the region.
Housing Plus Group’s priorities include listening to customers, improving services, increasing investment in existing homes, growing capacity to build more homes, remaining connected to local communities and creating more opportunities for colleagues.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance – Customer Experience & Assets, the Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and business partnering support across customer-facing services.
The role has responsibility for ensuring that financial reporting, business partnering, regulatory reporting, audit support, cost control, systems improvement and operational financial insight are delivered effectively across customer experience, regional teams, routine repairs and housing management services.

The successful candidate will also lead a specialist finance team supporting these services and will play a key role in helping operational leaders improve performance, manage resources effectively and deliver value for money.
Key Areas of Responsibility Will Include:
- Acting as the lead Finance Business Partner to Regional Directors and the Executive Director of Customer Experience.
- Providing financial leadership and reporting support across customer experience, repairs and housing management services.
- Supporting operational leaders with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and decision-making.
- Ensuring all financial reporting is delivered accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Supporting regulatory reporting and audit requirements.
- Managing internal and external audits relating to repairs and housing services.
- Working collaboratively with ICT teams to improve repairs data quality and reporting integrity.
- Supporting continuous improvement in systems, processes and financial controls.
- Developing robust financial methodologies for routine maintenance and housing service costs.
- Driving improvements in financial reporting, cost capture and value-for-money reporting.
- Leading, developing and motivating a team comprising Accountants and Assistant Accountants.
- Supporting transformation projects, systems developments and process redesign initiatives.
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure financial information supports effective service delivery and performance management.
About You
We are looking for an experienced finance leader who can combine strong technical financial expertise with excellent stakeholder management and people leadership skills.
You Will Need To Demonstrate:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- A minimum of three years' experience operating within a senior finance role.
- Experience of leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting expertise.
- Experience of business partnering with senior operational stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- The ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Experience of identifying risks, developing solutions and driving continuous improvement.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to developing high-performing teams.

The Role Offers:
- Salary of £60,540 per annum.
