Finance Manager | Tamworth | Permanent | Salary circa £50,000 | Office Based | Pathway to Financial Controller
Are you the type of Finance Manager who enjoys identifying opportunities, driving improvements and making a genuine commercial impact?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business seeking a high-calibre Finance Manager who is hungry to make a difference. This is not a role for someone who simply wants to produce month-end accounts; we’re looking for a driven, ambitious individual who wants to influence decision-making, lead projects, improve processes and help shape the future direction of the business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role within the finance function while leading a team of four. You will be trusted to use your initiative, think outside the box and influence decision-making across the wider business.
This role offers a genuine progression pathway to Financial Controller for the right individual.
The Opportunity
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and meaningful financial information while driving efficiencies and supporting commercial decision-making across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
