Sherfield School is seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to support effective financial management of the school. Reporting directly to the Bursar, the Finance Manager will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, managing day-to-day finance operations, and ensuring robust financial controls.
This key role is a full-time, full-year, permanent position. With a competitive salary dependent on experience, additional benefits include lunch provision by our excellent catering team during school term.

Person Specification
- Full or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing payroll operations and associated compliance.
- Experience managing audits and financial reporting processes.
- Experience in the independent education sector is desirable.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Positive, flexible and solution-focused approach, with a willingness to support a broad range of finance and operational activities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
