Finance Manager / Financial Controller Future Finance Director Opportunity Super-Prime Residential Construction | London | Salary guide £75,000 – £95,000 + Package

Our client is a well-established, privately owned, London-based super-prime residential construction business, delivering technically complex, high-end projects for private clients in collaboration with leading architects, designers and specialist trades.

With multiple divisions, a strong order book and ambitious growth plans, the business is entering an exciting new phase of expansion and is looking for a commercially minded finance professional to help shape its future.

Working closely with the current Group Finance Director, owners and leadership team, you'll increase your exposure to strategic decision-making, commercial operations and business growth initiatives as you develop towards a future Finance Director position.

The timeline for progression will depend on the individual, but this appointment is part of a clearly defined succession plan.

The Role Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will be involved across all aspects of the finance function within a growing, project-led business, supporting sustainable growth, protecting margins and strengthening overall business performance.

This is a hands on role, that combines day to day financial management and processing with broader responsibility and involvement across financial control, project accounting, cashflow management, regulatory compliance and reporting.

Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will play a key role supporting strategic decision making, project profitability and business performance by providing meaningful financial insight, helping to improve processes and strengthen controls.

As your experience, knowledge and understanding of the business develops, the expectation is that you will take increasing ownership of the function.

About You

Potential matters more than experience. You might not tick every box today, but if you're bright, commercially minded and ready to step up, we'd like to hear from you.

You will bring. Proven experience within a construction, contracting or another project-led environment. In excess of 10+ years' experience in a finance role Degree Qualified An accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent, although exceptional part-qualified candidates will be considered. Strong knowledge of management accounts, cashflow, CIS, payroll, Tax and VAT Experience working with external accountants, auditors and banking partners. Confidence using finance systems and improving processes.

More importantly, you'll be someone who: Has a hands on, detailed approach with a strong strategic mindset Is able to work independently and make informed decisions without constant direction and instruction. Has a pragmatic and solutions orientated approach to financial operations? Understands the importance of detail, without losing sight of the commercial impact. Builds credibility through action and impact, not job title. Can communicate confidently and effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Can confidently challenge, advise and influence stakeholders. Is able to work collaboratively with operational and commercial teams. Stays informed and keeps up to date with regulatory requirements. Driven to identify opportunities to improve. Is ambitious and excited by the opportunity to grow and develop. Has excellent organisational and analytical skills Has high attention to detail and accuracy? Driven to identify opportunities for improvement.
