Position Summary
A unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and talented individual to join the Financial Planning team. The team are accountable for the planning, reporting and analysis of the consolidated CA forecast financial performance, (short, medium, and long-term) delivering insight and judgement to aid understanding of CA sector and segment performance to both internal and external stakeholders, through the direct support of both the Civil Aerospace leadership team (CALT) and Group Financial Planning and Analysis team (Group FP&A).
This role provides an excellent opportunity to be actively involved in all financial planning exercises with exposure to stakeholders both inside and outside of Civil. You will be a key member of the Financial Planning team responsible for providing value added financial analysis, judgement, and insight to facilitate both effective decision-making and understanding of the CA business both internally and across the Group. You will help drive improved forecasting processes through effective and efficient use of systems and interpretation of outputs.
What you will be doing:
Planning
- Lead and Support the preparation, coordination, consolidation, analysis and presentation of short and mid-term forecasts and updates to senior management, Group FP&A and the CALT including:
- Lead completion of Target Cascade, 5YP and Quarterly forecasts
- Consolidating variance analysis and commentary from businesses to facilitate completion of all forecasts
- Support completion of forecasts for Civil HQ entities
- Leading completion of Sensitivities / Viabilities / Deferred Tax Asset assessment which support completion of year end activities

OHP
- Be an expert user of HFM and OHP for CA using SmartView as a tool to both upload and retrieve data, driving data integrity of forecasts and providing guidance to rest of business to facilitate improved analysis and insight
Process Improvements
- Leading improvements in forecasting processes across CA including improving / maintaining models which support how the businesses produce forecasts.
Strategic Financial Information
- Manage the provision and understanding of financial information to support the CA business strategy team and underpinning projects, ensuring the CALT are appropriately briefed and made aware of and understand significant results and drive appropriate actions
Ad-hoc analysis
- Provision of high quality and insightful CA financial management information and analysis to directly support the CALT and Group FP&A
Position qualifications:
- You should be a self-starter with excellent modelling and analytical skills who can demonstrate a drive for results coupled with business acumen and insight.
- This is a challenging, high profile and rewarding role with significant responsibility and autonomy, which will have exposure and the ability to influence senior management at the highest level.
- Degree level or equivalent industry experience and hold a recognised accounting qualification.
- OHP/HFM experience particularly use of SmartView and advanced MS Excel skills
- Track record of presenting insight to business leaders
- Process improvement experience
- Proactive, accountable, hands on and able to work on own initiative
- Inquisitive and willing to challenge the business when necessary
