Chalk Hill Group are working with a well-established SME, based in Southampton, that is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the business on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to lead a small finance team of three while supporting the wider business through a period of change and growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective management of the finance team.
Key Responsibilitie sOversee all day-to-day financial operations, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll oversight .Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports .Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements .Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes .Support budgeting and forecasting activities .Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making .Maintain and improve financial controls, processes and procedures .Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other stakeholders as required .Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
