About the Role

How You’ll Power Our Business as a Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager, you’ll provide financial, commercial and strategic support to the sales and commercial business units to ensure optimum margin performance and sales volume growth. This will involve:

  • Direct financial support
  • Production, analysis, and interpretation of financial data
  • Development of processes and controls within overheads

At Flogas, while we have a traditional fossil fuel background, we’re leading the transition to a 100% renewable energy future by 2040. Already, we’re helping customers switch from oil to gas, and investing in heat pumps, solar panels, cleaner bio-fuels, and renewable gases—Driving job security and involvement in exciting, sustainable initiatives.

Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the operations team in areas such as:
    • Delivering cost-saving recommendations to reduce controllable expenditures
    • Reviewing capital expenditure (capex) items
    • Presenting strategic insights to key stakeholders clearly and effectively

  • Lead efficiency improvement projects

  • Develop, produce, and review KPIs and financial reporting to drive performance improvements

  • Provide analytical cost support by:

    • Investigating cost drivers (why costs are increasing or decreasing)
    • Identifying trends and operational issues
    • Recommending practical ways to maximise efficiency and opportunities
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to align costs with sales strategies and business growth

  • Identify underperforming business areas (both internally and externally) and help set performance improvement plans


Requirements

What We’ll Need From You

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with customers, team members, and suppliers
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen, with a sceptical yet pragmatic mindset
  • Self-motivated, with strong time-management and prioritisation skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Passionate, responsible, and committed – with high integrity, energy, and a flexible approach
