Permanent Full time Office based role.
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and loves improving processes, strengthening controls, and supporting a business as it scales. This role gives you full ownership of the finance function day-to-day, leading a team of four with two direct reports, and acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership.
The Opportunity
You’ll oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong governance, and meaningful insight that helps the business grow while minimising risk. From month-end to budgeting, cash forecasting to audit, you’ll be the person the board relies on for clarity, challenge, and commercial guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-end leadership — drive a smooth close and deliver accurate, consolidated management accounts and KPI reporting.
- Board reporting — produce packs leadership genuinely use to make decisions.
- Balance sheet control — maintain robust reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Cost management — partner with departmental managers to review overheads and support smart spending decisions.
- Budgeting & forecasting — assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts across P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital.
- Team leadership — motivate, coach and develop your team to create a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Cash forecasting & debtor finance — monitor debtors and working capital, providing accurate weekly data to senior leadership.
- Stock & manufacturing analysis — lead annual stock counts, variance reporting and analysis of manufacturing data including costed BOMs and new product development costs.
- Audit & compliance — act as main contact for auditors; ensure VAT, Deferred VAT/Duty and PVA are recorded correctly.
- Payroll support — work with the Financial Accountant on in-house payroll and headcount reporting.
- Fixed assets — maintain the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
