Finance Manager

Based in Leatherhead, please check commute before applying!

Role Summary:

Take ownership of key finance operations, ensuring accurate accounting, strong financial controls, and effective management of client and supplier accounts. You'll play a vital role in building a high-performing finance team while providing support across the wider finance function whenever needed.

We want you to:

  • Own and drive monthly and quarterly financial close process ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are completed within corporate timelines.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts/ budgets as required.
  • Create insightful month-end management reporting for UK and European management.
  • Budget control, budget management system maintenance and improvement.
  • Proactively drive cost savings.
  • Build relationships with other functions both in the UK and in Europe, to become trusted partners.
  • Provide commentary and insight into monthly results against the business plan and prior year.
  • Oversee the quarterly and annual audits, acting as the primary point of contact with internal and external auditors.
  • Oversee all areas of tax compliance (VAT, transfer pricing, corporation tax).
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Create new internal accounting corporate policies and maintain existing policies.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives and Ad hoc analysis as required by the Finance Director, CFO, and the wider business.
  • Drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
  • Supporting corporate projects such as SAP HANA rollout, K-SOX.

About you:

  • Education and background in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Finance Manager.
  • ERP Systems skills (Preferably experience in SAP).
  • Strong numeracy, analytical and good research skills.
  • Accurate and thorough data management.
  • Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Accuracy and organized approach to issues.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature.
  • Ability to explain complex issues and present technical information clearly.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent computer/ Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.
  • Qualified/Part qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification.
