Finance Manager

West Lothian | Up to £50,000 | Study Support Available

Eden Scott's Accountancy & Finance division is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of a growing business based in West Lothian.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Part-Qualified, Qualified by Experience (QBE), or Qualified Accountant looking to take ownership of a broad finance role and develop towards a more senior position over time. The successful candidate will initially oversee the day-to-day finance function, including transactional finance, payroll processing, and month-end activities, with a clear progression path towards taking responsibility for management accounts preparation and wider financial reporting.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, overseeing transactional finance operations while supporting the delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Managing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supervising transactional finance processes and ensuring financial accuracy
  • Processing payroll and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Supporting month-end close activities, including journals and reconciliations
  • Assisting with cash flow monitoring and reporting
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Liaising with stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting the continued development of finance systems and controls
  • Progressively taking on responsibility for management accounts preparation and financial reporting

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS), Qualified by Experience (QBE), or fully qualified accountant status
  • Previous experience within a hands-on finance role
  • Strong understanding of transactional finance, payroll, and month-end processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence working independently and taking ownership of workloads
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • A proactive approach and desire to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ambition to grow into a broader financial reporting and management accounting role
