Finance Manager
We are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance across accounting, payroll, treasury, tax, and accounts payable activities. You will work closely with both the studio and group finance teams, managing outsourced providers and supporting the smooth running of all core finance processes.
In this role, you will lead month-end and year-end activities, including revenue recognition, reconciliations, audits, and statutory reporting. You will also manage cash flow forecasting, payroll and tax compliance, VAT returns, and group reporting requirements, while supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across the business.
The rundown:
- Permanent role
- Full time (37.5 hours per week)
- Remote within the UK
- Salary is competitive and dependent on experience
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop the finance operating model, including assessing which activities should be managed internally or through outsourced providers, and implementing process improvements to support the evolving needs of the business
- Oversee month-end and year-end accounting activities, including revenue recognition, royalties, recoupment arrangements, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany transactions and group cross-charging processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits and review outsourced statutory accounts and corporation tax submissions prior to sign-off.
- Manage outsourced payroll and pension providers, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with all HMRC reporting requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts, and manage day-to-day banking activities, including account reconciliations and funding requirements.
- Oversee the outsourced accounts payable function, including management and reconciliation of company credit card expenditure.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, while coordinating outsourced VGEC and R&D tax credit claim processes.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly group reporting requirements and support forecasting, budgeting, and wider financial planning activities.

Requirements
The skills you'll need:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in independently managing month-end processes, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong understanding of payroll, VAT, and wider financial compliance requirements
- Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across internal teams and external providers
The nice to haves:
- Experience within the video games, entertainment, software, or technology industries
