Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations, not just sat behind a desk? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, insight, and influence really matter? If you’re proactive, hands-on, and ready to support a complex, high-volume operation, this could be the role for you!

Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for a Finance Manager to join our new retail distribution operation in Northampton. This is a purpose-designed site, built to service over 250+ stores, with a strong focus on cost control, service delivery, and continuous improvement—and finance plays a critical role in making that happen. You’ll be the financial lead on site, working closely with the leadership team to deliver robust reporting, insight, and control across all financial workstreams, supporting both operational performance and the wider customer relationship.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of finance on a new, flagship site. You’ll be working in a business where automation, scale, and complexity come together—and where finance is central to delivering the right balance of cost, quality, and service. You’ll have genuine visibility across the operation, the chance to influence decisions at site level, and the opportunity to build something from the ground up as the site continues to grow.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, either 08:00 – 16:00 or 09:00 - 17:00. Flexibility will be required to support a 24/7 operation when needed, this is logistics after all!

Pay, benefits, and more:

  • You’ll be paid a salary of up to £60,000 per annum.
  • You’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance.
  • Your benefits package includes a company-sponsored pension scheme, private medical and dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance, and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme.
  • You’ll have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme, and much more.
  • You’ll also have access to our GXO University, which provides you with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with.
  • There’s also our continued focus on internal promotions, over 55% last year!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
