Job Description
What is the opportunity?
We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for an ambitious recent graduate or part-qualified accountant seeking a Finance/Accounting career within the Wealth Management Platform. You will have the opportunity to work towards your accounting qualifications (ACCA or CIMA) whilst gaining valuable practical experience.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall day-to-day management of the firm’s financial activities, play a key role in mitigating financial and business risks, and assist in driving the firm’s strategy, profitability, cash flow, and growth. You will also assist with the provision of robust financial information internally and externally to enable decision making, effective operations, and to help the firm meet its statutory requirements.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
Month End Activities
- Preparation and input of journals ensuring impact of journal is in accordance with reporting requirements and business expectations
- Ownership of month-end reconciliations and break investigation
- Management of control checklist and reporting on progress to management
- Collating information for the year-end audit
- Monitoring and tracking accruals and prepayments
- Explain variances to plan and forecast
Daily Activities
- Preparation of daily control reports and investigation of issues
- Management and resolution of queries
- Reconciliation of accounts and attestations
- Review of invoices for costs incurred and management of invoices issued to recover costs and settlement of all charges
The marginal functions of this position have not been included and the responsibilities above are not the only duties to be performed. Will be required to perform any other job-related duties required by the Head of Financial Control/Manager – Financial Control.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- 2:1 or above in any relevant degree and/or studying towards an accountant qualification or relevant accounting experience in a similar role for 2 years
- Proficient Excel skills or willingness to learn
- Desire to commence/continue with accounting qualification studies
- Multiple stakeholder management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Nice-to-have
- Previous experience in a financial control environment
- Previous experience working within a Banking / Financial Services organization
