Finance Officer (HR & Payroll) - Maternity Cover

Finance Officer (HR & Payroll) – Maternity Cover

Responsible to: Head of Finance & Operations

Salary: FTE £32,597 (Actual pro-rata salary: £17,620 – £22,025)

Hours: 20–25 hours per week

Location: Coventry, Office-Based

Contract: Fixed-term for up to 14 months

This role is central to the smooth running of CRASAC and supports our frontline teams in delivering high-quality services for survivors.


Responsibilities

Financial Administration & Reporting

  • Manage daily financial processes, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and banking.
  • Process invoices, supplier payments, and income receipts accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Monitor outstanding income and undertake credit control where required.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for review.
  • Support budget monitoring, forecasting, and cash flow administration.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and external audit requirements.
  • Support the creation of financial reports for funders, managers, and trustees.

Payroll & Pension Administration

  • Manage monthly payroll processes using Sage Payroll.
  • Process starter, leaver, and payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
  • Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, and external payroll contacts.
  • Respond to staff queries related to payroll.
  • Ensure all statutory payroll obligations are met on time.

HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, including BreatheHR.
  • Prepare contracts, offer letters, and employment documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Monitor probation reviews, mandatory training, and compliance records.
  • Maintain HR files and audit trails.
  • Support organisational compliance with employment legislation, policies, and procedures.

Operational Support & Compliance

  • Ensure confidentiality and data protection requirements are upheld.
  • Support organisational reporting and compliance needs.
  • Contribute to improving financial, payroll, and HR systems.
  • Attend team meetings, training, and events as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed within role scope.

    • Experience processing payroll, pensions, and maintaining compliance records.
  3. HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle Support

    • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and HR systems.
  4. Accuracy, Confidentiality & Professional Integrity

    • Ability to ensure data integrity and professional handling of sensitive information.
  5. Organisation & Prioritisation

    • Effectively manage deadlines, prioritise tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  6. Systems Management & Continuous Improvement

    • Confidence in managing finance, payroll, and HR systems, and enhancing processes.

Additional Strengths (Beneficial)

  • AAT qualification (qualified, part-qualified, or studying).
  • Charity/sector experience in voluntary, health, or social care.
  • Experience with Sage Payroll, MFO, BreatheHR, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and compliance requirements.
  • Commitment to CRASAC’s mission and trauma-informed services for survivors.
