We're looking for two Finance Officers to join our Finance team and help deliver a high-quality, customer-focused finance service across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, analysing financial information and building positive relationships. You'll support a range of financial activities, helping to ensure accurate reporting, effective budget management and continuous improvement across the service.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Finance Officer, you will:

  • Produce accurate financial information, reports and reconciliations.
  • Support budget monitoring and investigate financial variances.
  • Maintain financial systems and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, VAT returns, grant claims and cashflow monitoring.
  • Raise purchase orders and support the timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, providing clear financial advice and support.
  • Contribute to service improvement projects and provide cover across the Finance team when required.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and takes ownership of their work.
  • A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different areas of the finance function.
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to understand the story behind the numbers.
  • Experience working within a finance or accountancy environment.
  • Good knowledge of financial processes and computerised finance systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Experience working in a public sector finance environment.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to NVQ Level 3, A-Level or equivalent and part AAT qualified.
