Finance Operations Analyst
Location: Nottingham (Hybrid – typically 1 day per week in the office)
Salary: £28,000–£32,000 + Benefits
About the opportunity
We're supporting a fast-growing financial technology business looking to appoint a Finance Operations Analyst to a highly collaborative finance team.
This isn't a traditional finance role focused solely on month-end. Instead, you'll sit at the intersection of finance, operations, and data, helping ensure complex financial transactions reconcile accurately while identifying anomalies before they become problems.
If you're naturally inquisitive, enjoy investigating data, asking questions, and solving problems, this is an opportunity to build a career within an innovative, technology-led organisation that actively promotes from within.
The Role
You'll be responsible for producing operational reports, carrying out reconciliations, investigating exceptions, and supporting the integrity of financial and transactional data.
Working alongside experienced finance and operations professionals, you'll develop a detailed understanding of payment flows, reconciliations, and operational controls while helping improve reporting accuracy across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
