Shared Services Centre Finance Operations Manager, OTC & Cash Management | UK with travel to India

Are you an OTC and Cash Management specialist who wants to walk into a shared services operation, diagnose what is actually broken, and build the function properly rather than manage someone else's status quo?

This is a 12-month fixed-term mandate with a global contingent workforce management provider that operates across more than 100 countries.

📍 UK-based, with significant travel to India in the first phase. Around 3 weeks on-site in the first two months, then roughly 2 weeks every other month for the first 6 to 8 months. 💷 £80,000 to £90,000. 12-month fixed-term contract. 🤝 Interview Process: 3 stages. Introductory call with HR, Call with CFO, Call with CEO

Systems: Certinia (ERP), bank reconciliation and cash allocation platforms.

The finance operation runs through an offshore Shared Services Centre and today it is reactive and transaction-focused. Cash sits unallocated, reconciliations carry items nobody has resolved, and upstream billing and self-billing gaps feed problems downstream into collections and cash application.

  • End-to-end Order-to-Cash run across multiple entities and geographies through a Shared Services Centre
  • Certinia in place as the finance system, alongside separate reconciliation platforms
  • Live self-billing and customer-controlled invoicing arrangements that are not always mirrored accurately in Certinia
  • A known backlog of unallocated cash, unreconciled items and allocation inaccuracies

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The next step is to turn a reactive, transaction-focused operation into a controlled, standardised, end-to-end OTC and Cash Management function. That is where you come in.

You will own the diagnosis, the target operating model, and the hands-on delivery of the changes that make the function scalable and well controlled.

The Role

This is a deliberately hands-on role, not a governance-and-reporting one. You will work directly alongside the billing, credit control and cash management teams, review transactions and reconciliations yourself, find the root causes, and implement the fixes. You will report into senior Finance leadership and act as their trusted view on how the OTC operation is really performing.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Run a detailed assessment of the current OTC and Cash Management operation: team structure, processes, controls, governance and reporting
  • Identify the root causes of unallocated cash, unreconciled items and allocation inaccuracies, upstream as well as downstream
  • Design and implement the target-state operating model, with SOPs, controls and quality standards embedded
  • Establish meaningful KPIs, SLAs, exception reporting and escalation processes
  • Review whether customer billing and self-billing methodologies are accurately reflected in Certinia, and fix the postings and processes where they are not
  • Work hands-on to reduce the backlog while improving the underlying process at the same time
  • Coach and develop the team so the improvements stick after you leave
