About Us

The Good Food Group is a rapidly scaling FMCG retail sales agency working with 40+ brand partners and the UK's biggest grocers. We're not a consultancy — we're a consolidation point between brands and major retailers, managing complex supply chains, developing new products, and building our own brand portfolio. We've had a great financial year, doubling our revenue this financial year with the expectation to do the same next year also. We're looking for someone to help us build a finance function that matches our ambition.

The Role

You'll take end-to-end ownership of our operational finance function. This isn't a back-office admin role — you'll be the CEO's right hand on cash management, the trusted voice on financial controls, and the problem-solver when complex retailer relationships create accounting questions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the complete sales and purchase ledgers across multiple brands and retailers
  • Running weekly payment cycles while maintaining rigorous reconciliation controls
  • Leading month-end close and producing the financial reports that drive business decisions
  • Working with Xero, NetEDI, Hubdoc and a suite of retailer portals
  • Building trusted relationships with retailers, suppliers, brands and our external accountants
  • Identifying process improvements and building documentation that scales with us
  • Providing daily financial support across the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This role combines technical finance knowledge, operational ownership, and the kind of commercial thinking that comes from understanding how cash actually flows through a growing business.

Who You Are

You've got solid finance, bookkeeping, or accounts experience. You know Xero or similar systems inside out. You're a reconciliation person — you see a balance sheet and you want to understand every line. You prioritize accuracy, manage competing deadlines, and work independently with good judgment. You communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders. You probably have Excel skills that go beyond the basics.
