An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a growing and ambitious legal practice with a strong presence across Wales and the South West.

This is a key strategic role, working closely with senior leaders and legal teams to provide meaningful financial insight that supports commercial decision making and drives business performance. You will play an integral part in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, profitability analysis and audit management, while helping to shape the continued success of the business.

The Role

You will work as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, providing financial expertise and commercial support across multiple teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Partnering with legal teams and department heads to deliver insightful financial analysis
  • Monitoring key financial and operational metrics including utilisation, recovery rates, work in progress, billing performance and profitability
  • Producing clear management information to support strategic decision making
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
  • Supporting pricing decisions and incentive calculations
  • Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts
  • Leading the annual statutory audit and acting as the main point of contact for external auditors
  • Ensuring strong financial controls, compliance and audit readiness
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial reporting and business partnering processes
  • Building strong relationships across finance and operational teams

About You

You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing decision making and adding value across a business.

You will have:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • At least two years post qualification experience
  • Previous experience within a professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of work in progress, billing and revenue recognition
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial information into practical business insight
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and audit processes
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience managing external audit processes
  • A track record of improving financial processes and reporting
