The programme is focused on creating a more connected, collaborative and customer-focused organisation by bringing together key functions, systems and processes across the business.
We're now looking for an experienced Project Manager – Finance to help drive the successful delivery of a portfolio of finance transformation and business change projects that will support the next phase of our growth and evolution.
The role
Reporting to the Head of Change Management and working as part of the Better Together programme, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of multiple finance projects across DCC Energy Great Britain.
This is a hands-on delivery role that combines strong project management capability with financial and commercial understanding. You'll work closely with Finance, Commercial, IT and operational teams to deliver projects that improve processes, strengthen controls, enhance reporting and support better decision-making across the organisation.
You'll be responsible for managing projects through the full lifecycle, balancing time, cost, quality and scope while ensuring solutions are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile transformation programme while helping shape the future finance operating environment of a growing and evolving business.
What you'll be doing
Project delivery and governance
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of finance and business change projects from initiation through to deployment and handover
- Managing project scope, timelines, budgets, risks and quality standards
- Maintaining robust project governance and ensuring delivery aligns with agreed methodologies and controls
- Developing and maintaining project plans, documentation and reporting
- Supporting smooth transitions from project delivery into business-as-usual operations

Finance transformation and process improvement
- Working closely with Finance and business stakeholders to support transformation initiatives and process improvements
- Contributing to the design and delivery of scalable and efficient finance solutions
- Supporting projects focused on process standardisation, automation and systems enhancement
- Ensuring financial controls, governance and compliance requirements are embedded throughout delivery
- Helping improve reporting accuracy, financial visibility and operational performance across the business
Business case and benefits management
- Supporting stakeholders in developing robust business cases and investment proposals
- Monitoring project budgets and providing accurate financial reporting
- Tracking project outcomes and benefits realisation throughout the project lifecycle
- Helping ensure projects deliver measurable value and support Better Together programme objectives
Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business
- Facilitating workshops, project meetings and decision-making forums
- Managing expectations and maintaining stakeholder engagement throughout delivery
- Producing clear and concise project updates for senior leadership and governance groups
- Presenting complex financial and project information in a way that is accessible to both finance and non-finance audiences
Change readiness and adoption
- Working closely with Business Change and operational teams to support successful implementation of new processes and systems
- Supporting training, communications and engagement activities ahead of project go-live
- Helping ensure teams are prepared for change and able to adopt new ways of working successfully
- Supporting resource planning and prioritisation across a portfolio of concurrent projects
Risk and continuous improvement
- Identifying, assessing and managing project risks and issues
- Maintaining project controls and governance documentation
- Supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement activities
- Looking for opportunities to improve project delivery approaches and finance processes

What we're looking for
We're looking for a proactive and delivery-focused project manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by delivering meaningful business outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience delivering finance projects, transformation initiatives or business change programmes
- Strong understanding of finance operations, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controls
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Experience developing business cases, managing budgets and tracking benefits realisation
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work across multiple teams and business functions
Experience of finance transformation, process improvement, ERP implementations or operating model change would be beneficial.
A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, Agile or PMP would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
