Overview

Nomad Digital are currently on the look out for a Finance Project Manager, reporting to the Global Finance Director, to join the business. The Finance Project Manager will lead the Project Controlling team and own the project portfolio, driving accurate cost collection, project margin improvement, bid review, and pricing governance through robust project costing analysis and reporting. This role will be based in our Newcastle office (hybrid)

This role would be a great fit for a high performing Finance Manager, with experience of project controlling, who is looking for their next challenge and is motivated to support the team through a period of transformation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Bid/ tender review and support

  • Partner with Sales and Bid teams to prepare bid cost models and service model pro formas, ensuring commercial assumptions are complete, consistent, and aligned to the pricing model.
  • Own and maintain the Nomad pricing model, ensuring it remains accurate, controlled, and fit for bid review and commercial decision-making.
  • Review and challenge assumptions, inputs, and supporting detail within cost build-ups to improve accuracy, consistency, and commercial robustness.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency of bid processes, reporting and tools

Project Controlling

  • Review of project forecasts vs as-sold costings
  • Overall understanding of O&M, Delivery and Service model projects across the group
  • Overall responsibility for Inventory, WIP and POA accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Own the project margin review calendar and ensure reviews are completed on time, with clear actions, accountability, and follow-up.
  • Own project financial governance, ensuring consistent processes, controls, and reporting standards are applied across the project portfolio.
  • Line management responsibility for a team of Global Project Accountants
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities which may be required from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, particularly cost allocation and classification, revenue recognition, margin recognition, and IFRS 15 compliance.
  • Proven experience in project finance, controlling and forecasting.
  • Strong track record of delivering financial performance in a project environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial performance metrics, reporting, analysis, and associated risk and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems, with NetSuite experience highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
