Financial Accountant – Financial Reporting - Audits

6 month contract. Hybrid.

This role can be based in London, Newbury or Reading. 2 days/week in office.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically strong Financial Reporting Accountant to join a high-performing Financial Reporting team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit coordination, and corporate reporting within a dynamic and evolving business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to build on their technical expertise while gaining exposure to senior finance leadership, including the Head of Financial Reporting, Finance Director and CFO. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing technical accounting guidance and supporting strategic finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and management of the external audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements and resolution of audit queries.
  • Prepare and deliver statutory accounts under FRS 101 for multiple UK entities.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist with shareholder and corporate financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on IFRS and FRS 101 matters, assessing the impact of new transactions and accounting treatments.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of SOX controls across financial reporting processes.
  • Contribute to finance transformation and integration projects, working collaboratively across the wider finance function.
  • Support the development of finance policies, procedures and robust balance sheet controls.
  • Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, external auditors and advisors.

About You

We're looking for a qualified ACA accountant with a strong technical accounting background gained within public practice. You will be confident interpreting accounting standards, solving complex technical issues and communicating financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

You'll also bring:

  • Strong audit background
  • Balance Sheet control experience
  • SOX and IFRS are desirable
