Finance Reporting Manager
At Coventry City Football Club, we are driven by ambition, passion, and progress both on and off the pitch. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Finance Reporting Manager to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the Club’s financial operations and reporting excellence.

The Role
Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, the Finance Reporting Manager will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting key regulatory and compliance requirements across the Club.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of financial information while helping drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts in accordance with internal deadlines. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts to support the Club’s financial planning. Assist with analysis of financial information and expenditure to help track performance against departmental budgets. Assist with preparation of football regulatory and league financial reporting.

Compliance & Audit
Responsibility for the timely completion and submission of all National Statistic returns. Assist with external audit deliverables. Prepare VAT return data. Maintain and strengthen financial controls to ensure the integrity of the Club’s ledger.
Operational Collaboration
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Finance department to improve efficiency and workflows. Handle sensitive and confidential financial information with the highest level of discretion. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the quality of financial reporting and IT literacy within the team.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Essential
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and accurately.

Desirable
Experience working within a complex regulatory environment, ideally within professional sport. Experience using Oracle NetSuite.
