About Us
At Octopus Energy Generation (OEGEN), we're passionate about powering a sustainable future. As pioneers in the renewable energy space, we don’t just invest in utility-scale projects; we invest in people, communities, and a greener tomorrow.
Since stepping into the renewables arena in 2010, we've made waves - becoming a top investor in onshore wind across mainland Europe and the largest backer of solar power in Europe. Today, we proudly manage over £7bn in renewable energy assets worldwide.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Systems Administrator with strong, practical knowledge of both Yooz and SAP.
You will take day-to-day ownership of our purchase-to-pay processes and associated finance systems administration. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly understand existing configurations, resolve issues independently and maintain strong financial controls while supporting ongoing system change.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with supplier master data, bank-detail changes, invoice and payment workflows, user access and approval structures. You will need to exercise sound judgement, follow defined processes and escalate risks promptly where requests are unclear or fall outside standard controls.
This role supports a complex portfolio of renewable energy assets and requires close collaboration with finance, fund, asset management, external asset managers and third party system providers.
Whilst we maintain a degree of flexibility, this position requires an average of three days per week in the office. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
Yooz Administration and Purchase-to-Pay Support
- Act as the primary day-to-day administrator for Yooz
- Manage supplier onboarding, supplier amendments and bank-detail changes in line with established approval processes
- Maintain invoice, purchase order, payment and approval workflows
- Configure users, roles, permissions, approval limits and access rights
- Investigate and resolve invoice-routing, workflow and system-processing issues
- Ensure manual overrides and administrator functions are used only where appropriate and fully documented
- Maintain clear audit trails for supplier, workflow, access and configuration changes
- Support Finance and Asset Management teams with timely resolution of Yooz queries
- Work directly with external asset managers to resolve operational issues and maintain consistent processes
SAP Administration and Support
- Support day-to-day SAP finance processes, including invoice processing, supplier records and related finance-system activity
- Investigate data, interface and processing issues between SAP, Yooz and connected systems
- Perform reconciliations and checks to confirm data is complete and consistent across systems
- Support corrections, reprocessing and remediation activity where transactions have failed or been recorded incorrectly
- Assist with SAP-related system changes, configuration updates, testing and migration activity
- Work with Finance teams to ensure SAP processes support accurate accounting, payment and reporting outcomes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
