Finance Systems Analyst

Role: Finance Systems Analyst

The Finance Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and developing the firm’s finance systems to ensure they are reliable, efficient, and fit for purpose.

Reporting and Collaboration

Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager and working closely with Finance teams and IT colleagues, the role provides high-quality application support, assists with system development and improvement, and enables effective use of finance systems across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Systems Support & Administration

  • Administer, support, and maintain the Finance Systems application suite.
  • Manage and resolve queries, incidents, and service requests, escalating where appropriate.
  • Maintain user access and security across finance systems in line with policies and controls.
  • Provide regular progress updates to end users in accordance with agreed support procedures.

Business Partnership & User Enablement

  • Partner with IT and Finance departments to provide advice, guidance, and training to promote effective system usage.
  • Act as a key point of contact for finance system users, supporting consistent and informed adoption.
  • Attend training on new and existing systems to remain current and build capability.

Systems, Integration & Data Management

  • Maintain understanding of system integration and data flows between finance, client, and matter systems.
  • Assist with maintaining data integrity across finance systems.
  • Support data extraction, manipulation, and insertion activities as required.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain reporting solutions.
  • Provide analytical insight through structured and accurate reporting outputs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting database and performance-related issues.

Testing, Implementation & Change

  • Assist with testing and implementation of system enhancements and new solutions.
  • Participate in the installation of new finance software and support firm-wide implementations.
  • Contribute to finance and IT projects as required, ensuring finance system considerations are represented.

Operational Finance Support

  • Assist with month-end and year-end finance procedures.
  • Support operational continuity during peak finance cycles.

Process Improvement & Control

  • Drive and support continuous improvement of finance system processes and controls.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance system efficiency.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure systems and processes meet all legal, regulatory, and data protection standards including GDPR, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials+.
