Finance Systems Manager

Reporting to: Head of Finance Gaming Systems
Hours: Monday to Friday (office hours) – Hybrid work – You will need to go into the office 3 days a week.
Location: Hertfordshire.
Salary: £85,000 pa. - £105,000 pa. DOE + benefits

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Systems Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our client’s Finance Gaming Systems landscape.

Working closely with the Head of Finance Gaming Systems, you’ll drive the Finance systems roadmap, oversee system enhancements, and ensure technology solutions support business growth while maintaining strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

This is a highly visible role, acting as the key link between Finance, Technology, Product, Operations and external suppliers, ensuring Finance requirements are effectively prioritised, designed and delivered across multiple gaming and payment platforms.

Although this is not a Financial Controller position, it is a senior Finance Systems leadership role responsible for influencing strategic change across a complex technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Systems & Change Delivery

  • Support the Head of Finance Gaming Systems in delivering the Finance Systems roadmap.
  • Lead Finance input into system enhancements, upgrades and transformation initiatives.
  • Own the Finance change lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to implementation and post-launch support.
  • Manage Finance demand for system improvements, ensuring priorities align with business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Finance systems, increasing automation, efficiency and control.

Gaming & Payment Systems

  • Provide Finance leadership across the digital gaming platform (SGPAM) and associated systems.
  • Support the development of digital payment capabilities, including new payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Ensure player payment journeys are efficient while maintaining financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee settlement processes, reconciliations and exception management across gaming platforms.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary Finance representative across Technology, Product, Operations and third-party suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with payment providers, banking partners and system vendors.
  • Translate Finance requirements into clear technical solutions.
  • Present risks, impacts and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Testing & System Governance

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including:
    • Test planning
    • Script creation
    • Execution
    • Defect management
    • Final sign-off
  • Work within Agile and SDLC delivery frameworks.
  • Manage defects through Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure all system changes are fully documented, tested and successfully transitioned into Business as Usual.

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Ensure robust financial controls are embedded within all Finance systems.
  • Maintain accounting integrity across payment, claims and reconciliation processes.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, documentation and control walkthroughs.
  • Develop Finance reporting, dashboards and KPIs using Business Intelligence tools.
  • Support Finance teams with accurate and insightful management reporting.

About the Team

The Finance Gaming Systems team supports the Finance function by managing and enhancing critical gaming and finance platforms, including:

  • GEM Suite
  • SGPAM
  • ReconNET
  • IVS / FRS
  • PLATO BI Reporting

The team ensures systems remain compliant with regulatory requirements while continuously improving efficiency, reporting and financial controls across the organisation.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent Finance Systems experience).
  • Significant experience managing Finance systems within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong experience delivering Finance technology projects and system change.
  • Knowledge of ERP, finance and payment systems.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within gaming, financial services, banking or other highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of digital payment platforms and payment service providers.
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps and Visio.
  • Experience developing reporting solutions using BI tools.
  • Understanding of financial reconciliations, accounting controls and audit processes.
