Finance Transformation Manager – Theatrical Finance Consulting

About the Role
At PwC, individuals in our finance consulting team specialise in delivering financial management and strategy services. These professionals analyse client needs, develop tailored solutions, and provide expert guidance to optimise financial performance, enhance decision-making, and achieve key business goals.
As a finance consulting generalist, you’ll bring a broad expertise across core financial disciplines. Your role will focus on advising clients to maximise their financial health, refine operational efficiency, and implement transformative strategies.
In partnership with Finance Transformation, our core offering, we aid organisations in revitalising their finance function through cutting-edge technology platforms, operating model innovation, and data-driven digital excellence.
This role targets strategic finance transformation leaders who recognise the pivotal role of technology in driving meaningful change. You’ll oversee high-impact workstreams, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and deliver concrete business outcomes through the fusion of strategy, operating models, and tech-enabled execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Operating Model Design
- Lead the formulation of finance vision and strategy, including future target operating models (TOMs).
- Assess existing operating models and design future-state structures aligned with business objectives, covering:
- Organisational structure
- Governance frameworks
- Service delivery capabilities
- Transition strategic frameworks into detailed transformation roadmaps and implementation plans.
2. Business Architecture
- Develop transformation-ready modern business architectures for finance, ensuring harmonisation of:
- Processes
- Data systems
- Technology stack
- Clarify the impact of emerging technology trends (e.g., AI, analytics) within the architecture.

3. Process Diagnostics & Transformation
- Conduct current-state audits of finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A)
- Identify key pain points and prototype future-state designs compliant with:
- Regulatory standards
- Industry-leading best practices
- Digital innovations
4. Technology Enablement & Digitalisation
- Guide client-led modernisation of finance systems, from design to deployment, focusing on:
- ERP/EPM platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud, Workday)
- AI, automation, and analytics integration to enhance decision-making
- Collaborate on data-driven innovation to unlock operational efficiency.
5. Business Case & Value Realisation
- Develop financially robust business cases for change initiatives.
- Drive execution of transformation projects, tracking and realising operational value, including:
- Cost optimisation
- Risk mitigation strategies
- Macro-economic forecasting projections
6. Stakeholder Management
- Lead cross-functional teams and workstreams, ensuring alignment with:
- Project milestones
- Performance standards
- Risk controls
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior global stakeholders across hybrid/virtual delivery environments.
7. Global Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Facilitate effective partnership across multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
- Contribute to internal capability building, constituent development, and thought-leadership in finance transformation and digital innovation.
Fit for the Role
Essential Skills & Experience
- Core finance process mastery, including:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Record-to-Report (R2R)
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Hands-on process redesign experience, preferably deliberate transformation projects.
- Business architecture knowledge, with skills in:
- Process mapping (Aris, Signavio) -Gap analysis and modelling
- Strong stakeholder coordination and hybrid delivery expertise.
- Technological fluency, including:
- ERP/EPM expertise (SAP, Oracle, Workday)
- AI/analytics awareness
- Data visualisation (e.g., Power BI)
- Self-motivation to deliver autonomously in globally distributed teams.
- Change management experience to drive adoption.

- Experience analysing past AI applications in finance, with demonstrated ROI calculation.
- Proficiency in automation/analytics tools (e.g., Python, Alteryx, RPA).
- Exposure to Agile/Hybrid/Waterfall methodologies.
