Financial Transformation Lead – FP&A / Finance Business Partnering
Location: Manchester Airport Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (2.5 years), Hybrid (3 office days: Tuesdays–Thursdays)

About the Role
Join MAG at a critical stage in our Finance Transformation journey, steering our SAP S/4HANA implementation. As Finance Transformation Lead – FP&A / Finance Business Partnering, you will:
- Design future processes, data structures, and ways of working to drive financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
- Partner closely with Finance, IT teams, SAP experts, implementation partners, and stakeholders to align business needs with scalable, future-proof solutions.
- Lead FP&A and Finance Business Partnering by shaping process design, testing, and improvements—ensuring decisions are informed by agile, data-driven methodologies.
- Embed new financial controls and influence key strategic decisions across the organisation, fostering a culture of efficiency and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance
- Drive financial planning, forecasting, and reporting alignment with SAP S/4HANA standards, ensuring integration across FP&A, controls, and compliance.
- Lead process improvements within FP&A and Finance, balancing granular detail with strategic vision.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and nurture credible relationships across cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Communicate complex financial insights while challenging assumptions and advocating evidence-based decisions.
- Facilitate joint initiatives with Finance, IT, and operational leaders for seamless project execution.

Delivery & Transformation
- Lead and oversee finite steps in the S/4HANA rollout, coordinating mutual deadlines and risk mitigation.
- Embed enterprise readiness through training, awareness campaigns, and sustainable adoption practices.

Controls & Adherence
- Strengthen financial risk management, GRC, and compliance frameworks to enhance financial resilience.

Requirements

Professional Credentials A chartered ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is required.

Technical & Functional Expertise
- Deep FP&A experience with hands-on exposure to financial planning, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Rigorous understanding of Finance Business Partnering principles.
- Specialist familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, preferably within FP&A, Board reporting, or financial business partnering, is highly desirable.

Transformational Skills
- Proven project management expertise in strategic transformations, with PRINCE2 or Six Sigma credentials a plus.
- Expertise in process reengineering, requirements elicitation, and business case development.
- Four-and-five-year experience in matrix organisations, demonstrating successful cross-team collaboration.

- Ability to diagnose challenges, translate data into actionable strategies, and motivate teams towards impactful outcomes.
- Strong emotional intelligence to navigate diverging priorities and challenge transformational ambiguity.
