Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert (Treasury)

Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office)

Salary: £65,000


The Opportunity

An established organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert (Treasury) to join a major finance transformation programme focused on implementing SAP S/4HANA.

This is an exciting opportunity for a treasury professional to play a key role in designing and embedding future finance processes. Working as part of a wider transformation team, you will act as the link between Treasury, Finance, IT and external implementation partners, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective SAP solutions.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how treasury operations are delivered in a modern finance environment while gaining exposure to a large-scale enterprise transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Treasury Subject Matter Expert throughout the SAP S/4HANA implementation.
  • Work closely with finance, treasury, IT and project teams to understand and document business requirements.
  • Support the design and configuration of SAP Treasury and Cash Management processes.
  • Review and improve treasury processes, including cash positioning, payments, bank accounting and liquidity management.
  • Support system configuration, testing and validation activities, including SIT and UAT.
  • Assist with data migration, reconciliation and system integration.
  • Identify project risks and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • Support change management, user training and adoption across the treasury function.
  • Contribute to cutover planning, go-live activities and post-implementation continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Experience working with SAP, particularly within Treasury or Cash Management.
  • Strong understanding of treasury operations, including cash management, payments, banking and liquidity processes.
  • Experience translating business requirements into process improvements or system solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation or ERP implementation projects would be advantageous.
  • A professional accounting or treasury qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AMCT or equivalent experience) is desirable but not essential.
