What difference will you make?
As a trustee with finance skills, you can help ensure our board can oversee our upcoming strategic growth, bringing new exhibitions and experiences to our audience, financially managed with greater confidence. This year, we also hope to redevelop our strategic vision, which we anticipate our trustees will be highly involved with.

Our ideal candidate will have -
A Professional Finance background (Chartered accountant or equivalent) A successful track record in the Finance /Financial Services Sector Experience or detailed knowledge of the Charity Sector Strategic credibility, to take the Finance Lead for the Board of Trustees providing oversight, ideas and practical support An understanding of the governance responsibilities for trustees, and our fiduciary duties Ability to work closely with fellow trustees and the Director and Bookkeeper to maintain the financial health of the Museum. Shares an interest in heritage, museums, or the arts Collaborative working experience with small, committed teams

What will you be doing?
We have a strong board of trustees (7) with diverse, professional skills and expertise from sectors including Museums, Heritage, Arts and Business. We operate with a committed team of 30 volunteers and 2 staff, led by the Museum Director.
Our ideal candidate will be able to -
Prepare and present clear, accurate financial reports for trustee meetings
Support the preparation of end-of-year financial statements and liaise with external accountants/examiners
Work with the Director to set up the annual budgets, monitor income and expenditure, and guide the team in making financial decisions.
