A leading manufacturing organisation on the outskirts of Derby is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for either a first-time mover from practice seeking their first industry opportunity or an existing industry accountant looking for their next challenge.

You'll take ownership of monthly and statutory reporting, support audits, and help maintain strong financial controls across the business.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and own the monthly financial accounts process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce annual statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Act as the key contact for external auditors, supporting the year-end audit process.
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting procedures.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities with accurate financial analysis and insight.
  • Deliver financial reports to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies within agreed deadlines.
  • Partner with colleagues across the business to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards and ensure processes remain compliant.

What you'll bring

  • Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role, ideally within manufacturing or a commercial environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory accounts preparation.
  • Experience managing or supporting external audit processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to wider finance initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and professional development.

The role offers a salary of £50,000-£55,000 plus a competitive benefits package, alongside a flexible hybrid working arrangement with an expectation of 2-3 days per week on site
